Last Wednesday and Thursday we went to the factory in Oberleichtersbach to choose everything from the colour of the roof to the tiles in the bathrooms.
Before we got started we cleared up the problem with the length and depth of the dividing wall in the bedroom - see last post. Hanse Haus are very flexible in this regard - we were able to move the wall, and the folding steps into the attic. We also finalized the wiring in every room - sockets, switches, lighting inside and outside. We stayed overnight in Bad Brückenau which is a small spa town about 3 miles from the factory - Hanse paid for the hotel room and our evening meal including drinks. This is the Badhotel - don't be put off by the name...: Badhotel
There were other Hanse Haus customers staying at the hotel too, and also two sales people from Hanse with their Fox Terrier bitch Sunny, who Wim took a liking to...
On the second day we picked the rest of the fittings we hadn't managed on the first day, and cleared up some formalities. We are still very impressed by the people at Hanse Haus who thus far couldn't have been more helpful. At the end of the two days we were exhausted, but very happy.
On 2nd April we go to Würzburg to Neubert to pick our kitchen. If all goes as planned, the first meeting of all the builders, other tradesmen and utility companies on the building site takes place between the beginning and middle of May, after which digging commences, and the house should be erected in June. The plan at the moment is that we can move in in September or October at the latest.
Here are the pictures of the fittings etc.. Click on the pictures to enlarge.
Roof tiles in "natural red".
Outer walls in pale blue.
The underside of the roof in grey.
This is what it looks like on another house:
This is what it looks like on another house:

Windows and patio doors in white...
with handles in brushed aluminium.
Inside window ledge in grey marble.
Outside window ledge in aluminium.
Shutters in grey.
Motorised awning (4x2.5m) for the patio...
...and the material in dark and pale greyish blue.
And then it was time for lunch (White sausage and Bretzel) with Herr Klapp (right) and Herr Flick (middle - 'Allo, 'Allo...only the British among you will understand). Wim waiting for sausage to fall off the table, which of course it did.
The front door (from the inside) in white...
and the outside door handle. The door will be white on the outside too.
Light switches and sockets in white (the upper one).
The sink and tap for the bathrooms, two in the big bathroom, one in the small one.
The pot. New model with no inner rim making cleaning sooo much easier. The water here is so hard that the flush holes tend to clog up after a few years. Not so with this one, my thumb fits into them.
Push-button flush.
The shower in the small bathroom will be this model, but only 2.5cm (one inch) above floor level.
And this is the model for the big bathroom.
The tub.
These floor tiles will be laid in the two bathrooms, the hallway, the kitchen, the utility room and around the stove in the living room.
The laminate flooring for the living room and the bedrooms (here beside the tiles, but for some reason the colour of the tiles in this photo aren't true).
Even the door handles are picked separately... The doors will be white, but without the profile you see here.
This electric towel warmer is in each of the bathrooms.
The tiles for both bathrooms - "brushed" white with grey marble effect.
Oh, and the vent covers on the floor.
This is the colour of the walls and ceiling in the living room.
And this is the colour of the bedrooms.
The glass porch above the front door (not our front door...).
