Finally, we decided on a company to do the digging and foundation work, lay the drains, sewers and waterpipes, and do the landscaping. Haaf is a company which offers everything you need for this, and the main reason for choosing them was the fact that they have their own quarry and recycling depot. The stones for the foundations are from recycled concrete in two different size categories, and when the price per tonne is 50% cheaper than the main competitors who don't have their own quarry, this tells us two things: There is a hell of a mark-up on stones and sand, and that makes a hell of a difference when you need about 900 tonnes.
If they do the job well they may well get the contract for the paving around the house.

Views from the plot
Today was a nice sunny day, so I decided to got to the plot and take a few pics. It's hard to imagine that one day in the near future there will be a house standing here.
View looking North from where the kitchen and one side of the living room will be.
View looking North East from the kitchen /living room over the village.
View looking East from the living room or patio, or bedrooms.
View looking South East from the living room across where the patio will be.
View looking West from the front door (note new company car...).
View looking South from the bottom end of the plot towards where the living room and kitchen will be. The fall (or rise) of the land ist 5 metres from the North to the South West. The garage will join the neighbours house about half way along to the right.
