Kick-off meeting

30°C, hardly a cloud in the sky. We left the dog at home and went to the building site: Hanse Haus foreman, the foundation company Glatthaar, the electrician, the architect, the salesman, the excavators, and the water works - all were in attendance. A few of them knew each other and had worked together before, which one assumes always makes life easier. At least that was the impression we got. When they were talking to each other, it may as well have been Chinese - hardly understood a word. Anyway, the dates remain unchanged from the last post. Here are some pictures - click to enlarge:

Final plans and rough dates

On Monday we got the final plans for the house which we had to check and sign. There was only one minor issue with one of the walls - we thought it had been solved first time round. A couple of emails later, and it was. Here is the plan, if you can make head or tail of it:

The kick-off meeting with all involved (house builders, foundation "layers", digging company, waterworks, electrician, architect, surveyor) takes place some day in the week starting 19th May, the earth-moving has to be finished by 13th June, and the foundations will be laid sometime (takes about a week) between then and 28th June.
